A friend of mine recently was hit in the eye with a ball that ricocheted off her own paddle. She went to the hospital and finally to an ophthalmologist to find out she had a detached retina. 4 weeks to heal and she is not sure her eye will make a complete recovery. I was never the type to worry about eye protection playing pickleball, after a close call and a talk from the eye doctor I had to make a change and start playing with safety glasses on. I used the Kitchen Blockers for the first time yesterday. After playing for a few minutes, I forgot I even had them on. They are so lightweight and comfortable. Luckily, I was not hit in the face, so I can't guarantee it would have protected me, but the design looks good and should protect my eyes from being hit with the ball.
I was wearing protective glasses previously, which worked very well. However, I had to clean them before each day of use to make sure I could see the ball. They would also fog up occasionally.
Since there is no lens in the Kitchen Blockers, there is no lens to clean or fog up, saving me time and money for cleaning solution.

I bought a pair of Blue and another pair of Pink for my partner. I struggled with the glare and backlight when playing in some courts with the regular eye protection glasses. I bought this (white color) after trying 2 others brands/types (each with lenses). I took the others off within 5-10 min, I couldn’t handle the distortion or the distraction.

Well I tried Kitchen Blockers and WOW! Fit like a glove (there are many ways to adjust fit if needed, though I didn’t need to do much), and wearing them was no distraction whatsoever. I will wear them for every Doubles match from now on.

I have my Kitchen Blockers for around a month now and I have not looked back. These glasses are very protective, durable, snug, and stylish. I have received several questions and compliments about my Kitchen Blockers. Most of them saying “You look like Batman.” Which might be the best compliment to get. You won’t regret these. I personally use the strap for extra support but it can be removed depending on how you like it to fit you!
