Like many of my fellow pickleballers, I have spent a lot of money on protective eyewear over the years. I am an advocate of wearing some type of protection as I have witnessed people get serious eye injuries from playing pickleball from balls and more. In my case, I actually hit myself in the eye with my own paddle - ok, no need to say it. However, most of my protective glasses, as well as others I have seen on people, either get scratched or fog up too easily. Love love love Kitchen Blockers! I've tried so many different eye protection brands for pickleball and they all fog up after a few minutes. You won't have that issue with Kitchen Blockers since they are lens free, but still sturdy and protective. I started playing pickleball towards the end of 2024 and now play multiple times a week. I find myself near the kitchen often and have received a few “hits”. I recently had cataract surgery and returned to play after recovery. I did not want to risk injury and wanted to protect my eyes. I ordered a traditional, yet popular, pair of safety glasses online. My partner inadvertently clipped my cheekbone and the ball simultaneously flew from his paddle to my eye. I was wearing my Kitchen Blockers and sustained NO INJURY. Just started my pickleball journey but have seen close calls these few months. I’ve tried other pairs of protective eye wear but always had issues of blurry vision due to light glares or fogging up.
